Since its establishment in 1969, Altena Yachting has developed into a renowned builder of custom luxury motoryachts, ranging from inland water boats to coastal cruisers and seaworthy yachts. The dynamic family business has a strong focus on quality, reliability and the best possible service..
The yard’s latest model is the Altena 500 Raised Pilothouse. This hybrid motoryacht is the result of a close cooperation between Altena Yachting, design agency Vripack and Rotorswing. Equipped with the new RotorSwing ZeroSpeed, the yacht promises optimal comfort on the water and at anchor. The 500 Raised Pilothouse was built to meet the sailing demands of today and tomorrow. Its development involved major investments in comfort and sustainability; for example, by combining the main engine with two electric motors for silent sailing. The 10 kW generator is realised in 48VDC to power the 800ah 48VDC battery package, providing very efficient charging as well as calm and quiet operations due to the variable rpm.
The yacht’s interior is both modern and well thought-out. As natural resources such as hardwoods are increasingly scarce, this model is furnished with sustainably pressed bamboo, which is strong, stylish and easy to maintain as well as being CO2 neutral and fire safe. In addition, the yacht is equipped with underfloor heating throughout. With a length of 14.99 metres on the hull (15.75 metres overall) and a beam of 5.30 metres, the 500 Raised Pilothouse comes with a vessel inspection certificate (‘Certificaat van Onderzoek’ in Dutch).
Altena 600 Raised Pilothouse
Previously known as the Altena Blue Water Trawler 60’, this two-propeller, steel trawler was specifically designed for adventures at sea. The roundbilged hull with deep forefoot and flush stern combined with a deep cutwater ensures excellent course stability and a stable performance. The yacht is built under CE category A. The owner’s cabin with ensuite and lobby with access to the engine room is located aft. Below the wheelhouse is another two-person cabin on the port side and an office to starboard. The galley and adjacent dinette, head, shower room and a third twin berth are located fore. The deckhouse includes a wheelhouse and deck saloon, and there is a flybridge above the deckhouse too.
Vryburg PB 61’
The Vryburg PB 61’ is a robust, seaworthy roundbilged yacht, designed for all weather conditions. It features an attractive, timeless design by Pieter Beeldsnijder and naval architect Vripack. Based on its combination of stunning lines and robust character, the Vryburg is admired wherever she goes. One of the main design criteria was ensuring the yacht was able to make transatlantic crossings and its underwater segment is extremely efficient to minimise fuel consumption. Another major design criteria was to realise an exceptionally comfortable yacht with a high degree of luxury. To underline this, the main deck, gangways, saloon with galley and bridge are all on the same level. The wide gangways and high positioning of the bollards and railing enhance the sense of comfort and safety. The Vryburg can be operated by a crew of only two and can easily be described as a mini-superyacht.
